Advance Marble & Granite

Have a countertop-related question? We have the answer. Check out these FAQs and give us a call today for more information!

  • How do I get an estimate?

When providing an estimate, Advance Marble & Granite requests a rough drawing of your counters, as well as the color and type of material that you have selected. You may e-mail or fax your drawing, but be sure to include additional information such as if you’ll need a backsplash, sink type (undermount or drop in), whether you’re having a stove or cooktop and any additional information that's relevant to the project. If you need us to demolish and remove your existing materials, please indicate that in your request. The drawing doesn't need to be 100% accurate since this is for estimating purposes only.

  • I've decided to use your services. What comes next?

To place the order for your new counters,  Advance Marble & Granite requires a deposit of 50% of the amount quoted as well as some paperwork signed to secure your stone selection and to schedule the template. Advance Marble & Granite will then send a representative to the job site, to create a template of your counters. The installation will follow approximately one to two weeks after the template is created.

  • Any considerations for the template?

On the scheduled date for the template, the counters being templated need to be clear of any objects. Advance Marble & Granite has several sinks to choose from in our showroom. However, if you're purchasing a sink elsewhere, Advance Marble & Granite will need to have the sink on-site in order to proceed with the template and fabrication process. We ask that you'll be present during the template process. All questions or concerns should be addressed at this time, before Advance Marble & Granite proceeds to the fabrication process.

  • Can I see the slab prior to the fabrication?

Yes! Especially when choosing granite, marble, or any other natural stone, we encourage you to see the slab prior to making a final choice. Natural stones may have fissures, which may look like cracks, but they are not structural defects and they are a naturally-occurring result of the immense heat and pressure that formed the stone eons ago. These characteristics are part of the natural beauty of the stone and will not impair the function or durability of the material, although some people might not like them. Quartz (manufactured) slabs will not have those characteristics.

  • How should I prepare for the installation?

Granite countertops are extremely heavy, and installers need clear access to the entryways. Please have your walkways and driveways as clear as possible. Empty the cabinets under your sink. Have ready any faucets, soap dispensers, hot water taps, dishwasher air gaps, reverse osmosis filters, and any other items that need to be drilled into the countertops.

  • What is your warranty?

Advance Marble & Granite warranty covers the installation and fabrication for one year from the date of the installation. The warranty will not cover surface stains or naturally occurring fissures and pits in the natural stone. When selecting your slab, please look for these carefully in your slabs if you wish to avoid them. Advance Marble & Granite will not warranty against breakage after the installation.

  • Will I have a seam, and can I choose where the seam will be?

Whether you need a seam depends on the size of the counters as well as the size of the material slab and the overall layout of your job site. If a seam is required, it will be determined by our fabricator experts based on the layout of the job, the size of the slab, and the type of material. Our care in manufacturing ensures that the edges fit together very tightly to minimize their appearance.
